Home Learning: How is it affecting children?
With increasing amounts of children staying home for school, there must be some effects on children which are damaging their learning.
This change of scenery for children at school has posed many issues and benefits from staying at home.
The main issue is that parents don't have the necessary requirements for home learning. This includes fast WiFi, a computer or phone, and the software required to complete work.
It is not exactly clear how families with these issues are coping, however most schools have provided them with what they need.
Students who have been home learning have reportedly felt happier about this, as it breaks up the repetative nature of school.
Being able to be in their own clothes has helped students concentrate with their work, as it is much more comfortable than uniform, say parents.
Students also feel better about working at their own desks where they have everything they need to be comfortable, different to their desks at school.

This has also had a noticable effect on bullying, with much less as cyberbullying is much easier to report and block, making students feel happier overall.
One important thing to consider with home learning is the quality of work.
Some students may think that a teacher wont check the work, so will do some of it and hand it in without completing it, whereas some students will fully edit a webpage in order to create a fake news article.
With so many children home learning, it is important to consider all of the issues along with the benefits, and therefore schools should consider how they can improve their home learning system occasionally, in order to make it easier for students, and to help improve their test scores.
With enough testing, schools can find the optimal way to stop children from missing work and ensure that they are getting the best education the school can provide.
